Wow! I am so impressed with this group of students! They have come to school ready to learn every day this week! I have enjoyed getting to know these students, I remember meeting many of them as first graders. It has been a busy first week of school, and the kids are very enthusiastic!
Each student had the opportunity to share their bag of items yesterday. It was fun to see the items that students chose to represent themselves. This was a great opportunity for us to get to know each other and to find common interests.
Students have been working on writing bio poems this week. It is a great writing activity for the kids to describe their unique qualities. We have also started our Number Corner curriculum in math. Be sure to ask your child what he or she has learned about ancient Egyptian numerals!
Upcoming events for next week:
Monday is Walk Your Child to School Day! Be sure to check your child’s white homework folder for more information.
On Tuesday, we will be voting for our ASB representative. If your student would like to be our ASB rep, they will need to prepare a brief speech to present to the class about why he or she would like to be our class rep.
Have a great weekend!
