September 18th Update

This week we started our first science unit – water! Water is a unique earth material, the only material that occurs naturally in all three states of mater - solid, liquid, and gas. We will be learning lots of interesting things about water through many hands-on investigations! We will explore how water reacts to heating and cooling and the processes of evaporation and condensation, just to name a few. We are looking forward to many weeks of water investigations.

Be sure to ask your child about palindromes! We have learned about word and number palindromes and students have been working on finding palindromes for the numbers 0-99. We have also been working on multiples of 2. You can help support this learning at home by practicing multiplication flashcards with your child.

Just a reminder, if you would like to volunteer at any time this year (including field trips), it is required that you fill out a volunteer application. This application must be completed each year. Thank you!

Enjoy your weekend!
